2004 Washington Quarter (P) IOWA 1846 edition

This Washington Quarter was only made in 2004 and it’s known as a commutative coin.

The Washington Quarter on the front side has the face of the first president of the united state George Washington (Aka the man the lead just threw the American Revolution and kicked the British out). The first Washington quarters were made of silver and would remain like that until 1964 when the coinage act of 1964 pretty much ended all silver coin production. Nowadays quarters are made of a copper nickel metal, however since the introduction with the Washington bicentennial Washington quarter in 1972 have had different back symbols with several variants since then. Just look at ur pocket change and you'll see what i mean =)

DEFECTS

  • the coin has a very interesting problem, on the front side of the coin, the edge is thin top but when you flip it on its back the top part of the back of the coin is thicker and it’s the same problem on the bottom of the coin but it’s the opposite, its thicker on front and thin when flipped.

  • Also, on the front in the word America the E and R have extra metal i them.
