These Nickels have President Thomas Jefferson the 2nd president of the United States, Originally the from 1938-present Nickels have been made from a Copper nickel material which is the same thing that we have now in days. However, between the years of 1942-45 Nickels were made from silver because Nickel (the metal not the coin) where needed for war time production so silver stepped in to fill in the gap because of many wartimes’ shortages.

On the front in 1961 the ^ is touching the edge of the coin.
On the back in the word “E PLURBLUS “the letter RLB are all connected.
Alo in the same word we have a E that has more metal making it a chunky E.
